A gift from Japan in the early 1900's, this is the variety featured in Washington D.C.'s Cherry Blossom Festival. Okame Cherries are loaded in early spring with showy, rosy-pink flowers and make a great specimen tree to welcome the new season. Easy to grow and forgiving of drought, heat, cold and humidity.
Okames transplant easily into just about any kind of soil including heavy clay, just be sure there is adequate drainage. Does well in full sun to partial shade. A little afternoon sun relief would be welcome. The bark is a shiny reddish-brown and fall foliage ranges from red to bright orange. Plant as a specimen tree, use on a patio, or line a driveway with several for a fantastic show!

Snow Goose Cherry grows 20-25' in height by 20' spread. In early spring, pink flower buds give way to pure white, single, slightly fragrant flowers. Dark green foliage emerges after flowering. The fall color is orangish red. Cherries need full sun and well-drained soils.
