The Princeton Elm is a fast-growing, eastern North American native shade tree. Its vase shape and broad, rounded crown provide nesting sites for birds and habitat and food for other wildlife. The tree is also a host plant for several species of moths and butterflies. Elm prefers moist, well-drained soil, but can adapt to both wet and dry sites.
