Grows 1' - 3' ht. & sp.
A super plant for a dry, shady spot, Butcher's Broom (also known as Knee Holly) is an evergreen shrub in the Asparagus family. They grow well in partial or lightly shaded areas, but will tolerate full shade, drought, heat and salt. They'll also do well in a range of soil types as long as it's well-drained, forming large clumps over time. As long as there are male and female plants, you'll see bright red berries from summer into fall.
This plant is also known to have medicinal uses.
