Autumn Gold is a male cultivar of Gingko. It has a symmetrical, broad spreading growth habit. Once established, it has a high drought tolerance. Very showy bright yellow fall foliage. This is a great tree that has a wide range of uses. Whether it's planted as a lawn, park, street, or shade tree, Gingko trees always go above and beyond. Thrives in medium moisture soil in full sun and our trees are male, so they do not produce any fruit.
Ginkgo is a long-lived, woody, deciduous, prehistoric tree in the Ginkgoaceae (Ginkgo) family. It is often called a living fossil because the Ginkgo has existed for hundreds of millions of years.
While it tolerates a variety of soil textures and pH, ginkgo needs a site in full sun and good drainage to thrive. Avoid wet soils. This tree’s pyramidal shape and unique fan-shaped leaves, which turn yellow in the fall, bring a beautiful quality of light as the sun filters through its canopy.
