Grows 35-50' ht x 25-40' sp
Brandywine Red Maples are native, deciduous shade trees that are as handsome as they are big. With a rounded crown and branches reaching a 25' to 40' spread, they are easy to grow in average, well-drained soils in full sun to partial shade. Tolerant of many soil types including clay, they prefer moist, slightly acidic conditions. They're very cold hardy, and grow fairly fast, also tolerating harsh urban conditions.
The Red Maple leaf is slightly smaller than most other species of Maples. And in early fall, leaves turn a show-stopping brilliant red. Brandywines make an excellent lawn, park, or street tree.
